Why cd and dvd are still alive?

I saw MANY people swear in their cds? (Can someone explain me why those peoples think that cd are better that flash memories?)

Not sure, their download is not very high?

For CD's: Higher bit rate, so better quality(with some variables assumed).

A lot of musicians (if you go on over to sevenstring.org, you will know) like to collect such things. Buying CD's may be of habit, or is just something they do to support the musician (band). People also like to have physical albums that they can touch, collect and look at.

I buy books too, you know old dead tree. Some people actually prefer having a physical medium for their data (music especially).

For the record, I have over 90% of my music purchased on CD. However most of the time I play from my itunes library, or off my phone, just for convenience sake. There are nights however where I fire up my CD player and (analog) amp, and just play whatever falls under my fingers.

I tend to buy hard copies of CDs, DVDs and books that I really like. I guess it is nice to have something tangible to put on a shelf and make you smile. Also means they can't get buried in my digital library and forgotten about.

Internet speeds. Also, for some older games it can be cheaper. And people like my self like having a physical item for a purchase.

Because not every one has amazing high speed internet with unlimited monthly quota.

-In some cases can be more than the physical retail copy, PSN in Australia has been good at doing that in the past even Steam can be quite expensive.

-CD's, physical copies offer more, from artwork, lyrics and even other bonus goodies like picks, shirts, signed slip covers etc.. All bonus to pre-ordering or buying the album.

-With movies I don't have to have anywhere upto 50gb storage for a proper 1080p copy of a movie, instead I have a shelf/cupboard for my blu-ray movies, of which I have over 130 of..

-It is mine, a digital copy could be revoked or have access withheld from me if the company got DDoS'd or worse went under and then if they haven't put in some kind of fail safe I may never see that again..

So really physical media in my opinion has plenty of value, I might have to go to a brick & mortar retail store to buy it or buy on line and wait a few days, but in some cases I could be waiting a few days for the digital copy anyway depending on how smashed the download servers are, or my internet speed or even if I managed to exceed my monthly limit and get shaped back to 256kbps..

But really when i'm paying 9-22 dollars for a music CD/CD's, 5-30 dollars for a blu-ray and about 70 dollars for a new release game on PS4/PC in the form of a retail copy, and the digital version is just as much or more i'll go with the physical copy, it just makes sense. Plus i'm not one to protest going outside, like some people I know.
