If you already have a disc can you not use that and the key that came with that disk, If you get errors then try re activating the key with Microsoft I am not sure how you do that now adays but that was just a thought.

I think the Upgrade anytime option after you install windows 7 is no extra media, but you'll end up paying more than buying the OEM version (with disc) or if your student (get student discount).

 

win 7 and win 8 the same price... your pick.  You can even download the iso directly from Microsoft anyway.
