Do you guys think such a think is possible? Maybe not all the way to 0, but pretty close. I'm watching youtube and my fan speed is at 25, and my temp is at 57 C so I have 38 C of headroom. I also have two cards in crossfire, so if someone didn't have crossfire cards their temps would be even lower. Would there be a way to do it or no?

Would not do on a card that requires that much power, VRM's would most likely be damaged over-time from running so spicy.

You cant,

For these reasons-

1. Lightning cards cannot have the fan profile made 0%

2. You cannot edit a 290x bios

You can edit 290x BIOS's I'm pretty sure, the Overclocker named "gunslinger" gave me a modded Lightning 290x BIOS for Ln2.  It was basically like the stock Ln2 bios on steroids.

Well, there is no software to do it. All of them are either outdated or do not work for the Lightning Edition

Anything up to 100c-120c is "safe" they are validated usually to run at 120-140c for years according to the marketing BS that people talk about when they talk about VRM.

BUT, I would not recommend doing this 24/7.

Since the 290x is substantially more power hungry than the 970/980/960, I wouldn't recommend it, since at any given time you'll be running nearly 2x the power through the VRM's.
