Best CPU for DotA2 ?

Hello techies,

I'm very intrigued with pc building and im extremely excited to get into it and build my first rig, but im far from an expert. Asking what cpu to buy is a vague question i know, BUT, perhaps not, because really the only game i play is DotA2, and occasionally starcraft2. I've done a lot of research, but i really want to see what you guys suggest for this narrow scope of computer usage. I don't render or edit or use any kind of software--i just play dota2. I'm wanting to spend no more than 200 dollars or so. Intel or AMD--i dont care, im just interested to hear some specific suggestions from you guys with lots more knowledge and experience than myself. Any imput is greatly appreciated, cheers.

200 USD with or without motherboard?

200 USD CPU: Something like an i5 4460 probably. Maybe i5 4440 if that's too expensive.

If 200 USD with motherboard: Probably an i3 4130 with some motherboard with the money left.

AMD FX 8320 or 8350 will do just fine. Get 8320, Evo 212 as a cooler and you are still below $200

I am sorry for my english.

Do you mean $200 for everything or just the cpu? If its just the cpu we need to know what motherboard you plan on using.

Yeah, 8 core unefficient cpu for game, that uses max 2 threads and needs more powerfullcores, not more lower power ones.

At least check what games uses before go into fanboyism.

Intel i7 2600 @ 4.2 Ghz | MSI Z77-GD55 | Crucial 16 GB DDR3 RAM 1600Mhz | Intel 330 SSD 180Gb | Western Digital Black 1Tb | Western Digital Green 2Tb | Gigabyte GTX 650 Ti | OCZ ModXStream Pro 500W | Thermaltake Commander MS-I case | OS X Yosemite | Dell Vostro 3550 Windows 10

Intel Xeon 1230 V2 | Gigabyte GA-H61M-S | Kingston 4Gb RAM 1333Mhz | Seagate 1TB  | Fractial Design Arc mini | Windows 10

No AMD "fanboyism" here, I have 4690k myself. With 8320 it's all about price, I don't know what can compete with that processor when you got tight budget.

I am sorry for my english.

Had a G3258 OC'd to 4.7 w/R9 280x playing DOTA2 @60fps 1080p while streaming with gaming evolved -raptr (AMD equivalent of Nvidia's Shadowplay-ish). If all you play is DOTA2, you could buy a potato.

Not the build I would recommend, but one that certainly works.

Starcraft 2 would probably want at least an i3, although I haven't touched that game in years. AFAIK both games you mentioned are going to appreciate IPC over core count, so Intel would be the way to go.

Well looking at benchmarks shows, that i5 4460 would be much more universal cpu, giving good fps in any game, not just as FX would have bad times with some singe core games, like DOTA 2 and same engine based Arma, and also some at least 60% of games, that uses no more than 2 cores.
