Just wondering what your guy's thoughts are on the alpha if you were accepted into it. I try not to completely judge a game on the alpha but some things aren't going to change. To me over all, it has a lot of potential. I enjoyed playing it. The maps are good. I assume they will add more destruction and improve the graphics.

My only concern is that no one tries to rescue the hostage. I mean, I've played one game where a person tried to rescue them. Other than that, it people play it like a Call of Duty Search and Destroy. In other words, kill all enemies and screw the objective. I think that's more of a player problem than a game problem but let me know what you guys think.

I'm in, couple of things I dislike are you can run spray and your accuracy is not punished from doing so which removes marksmanship from this game which is important to rainbow six but it will be hard to do so as its so CQB orientated.

VOIP is also terrible quality at the moment with always broadcast only available so it is practically impossible to coordinate with your team which removes tactics. The point of the game is missed and it just turns into an assault on one room with the whole enemy team in there camping and it turns into a spraying through walls match due to the hit markers showing up through walls and it spoils the game.

I know its Alpha these are just my opinions at this current build and I hope things are going to be addressed properly as its not Rainbow right now.

I'm in the alpha as well, both my brother and I have played a lot of Rainbow Six: Vegas 1 and 2 back in the day and loved the tactical feel the game gave.

Siege has almost none of that feel whatsoever. It feels like Battlefield and Rainbow Six had a kid and it leaned more on the BF side than the R6 side. There's no tactical feel other than the pre-plan phase and breaching paths. Gun play feels a lot like CoD/BF(run and gun).

Honestly, I'm not impressed and have no interest in the game currently(I did have some before). I'll be waiting for TotalBiscuit's "WTF Is" when the game officially releases in supposedly 2015, but I am 99% sure this will be a "pass" for me. My brother feels the same way. I played for at least a couple hours, my brother couldn't play it for more than 5 minutes, he was just too disappointed.

Also I know this is an alpha and a lot can change, but this is Ubisoft we're talking about here...

I'm in the Closed Alpha as well. I played less than an hour and lost interest. I was a big fan of old Rainbow Six games such as Raven Shield. To me, Rainbow Six should be all about tactical and they lost me. There is no real planning, at least in the Alpha, other than barricading stuff or exploring around. I loved Raven Shield with the "go codes" and all the planning before the mission started. Each member knew where to go and waited for your go to proceed further. SWAT games from Sierra (I think?) also had this.

I understand that the closed Alpha is only about multiplayer and single player might be different from this. However I feel at the current moment that you need to rush like hell to rescue an hostage. It feels more like Battlefield and Counterstrike mixed together. I'm sure it can be very tactical depending on who you are playing with and how good the VoIP is used, but at the current state, it does not feel like a R6 game to me.

GamePlay :

I also have the alpha and I thought it was fun but it feels nothing like Rainbow Six.

It reminds me more of BF:Hardline than Rainbow Six.

Graphics :

I'm sure the guys that have the Alpha can comment that the graphics at the Airplane map are alright but nothing special and the Residential map is also nothing special.

It sucks that they give you one game mode ( Hostage Rescue ) and they locked all the video settings.

So you really don't know what setting you're really playing at.

Conclusion :

Overall its fun for a few hours then it gets sorta boring.

It runs alright for being a Alpha and coming from Ubisoft. I'm honestly suprised on that part.

But..

Would I buy it : No.

Would I buy it on sale : Yes depending on price.

Also I forgot to mention I hate Uplay..

I'd like to try it, but Ubisoft. Shame really as the game looks fun and tactical. Boycotting Ubisoft.  ^_^

I feel the same way. Although I never played any Rainbow Six games I have have watched the Let's Plays of Vegas and it doesn't look at all as tactical as Ubi is trying to say it is. When playing my team just barricades in a single room with the hostage and camps the windows/doors waiting for enemies.

I'm not sure what other game modes, if any, ubi will create for this game. But if it's nothing more than Hostage than the game will suffer like Titanfall and Evolve and the player base will be dead in a month.

Apparently I'm one of the few people who really enjoyed it. And some people above me don't know the definition of alpha, since they base their whole opinion about the final game on it.

I enjoyed the game. But, it is a little stale. It has the potential but I think Ubisoft needs to make sure they hit the nail on the head with this or it will be another watch dogs. The setting are most likely stuck on low. There are basically no textures on the guns. I understand though because it is an alpha. But it seems like the game play is something that would get too repetitive like Titan Fall. Both good games but I don't know what this game will offer in terms of modes.

I don't care about what the Alpha looks like in term of graphics. What I do care about is gameplay. If a game looks fun to play, I'll play it. I don't care about graphics, video engine and all other techs in it. The problem with the new R6 game, is that it is highly anticipated in the R6 community. There hasn't been a R6 game in years and many times Ubisoft told us that it has scrapped the current progress of that R6 game because it was not to their taste. I, and many other, was expecting something very great for Siege.

I will follow the progress, read reviews and look at some gameplay on Twitch once the game comes out. But I expected a different gameplay (more tactical, more R6 style) and that is not what I got in the multiplayer this week-end. I would not buy the game based on what I've played so far, but if there is a coop mode and more tactical/SWAT gameplay, then I will reconsider buying it.

The new Rainbow Six will probably suck like the last ones. I will wait for reviews and sales before I buy the new one.
