Hey guys, not really sure what to call these devices (or if they even exist) so I was hoping you'd be able to help me out. Basically what I'm looking for is a nice 12+ plug power bar (plugs spaced out to allow for larger plugs if necessary), surge protection, and some built-in battery backup. Not enough to keep my house up and running for an hour or anything, just a bit of time to shut everything down properly if need be.

And it would need to be about a max size of 6" x 12" x 24".

So does such a thing exist or would I be buying two separate devices? Any recommendations? Canadian plugs/dollars/stores preferred.

Thanks, let me know if you need to know what will be plugged into it or any specifics.

You can get a UPS with a splitter or power bar on it to distribute the backup power but of course it will drain faster and the more connections you have the less efficient it will be. I do recommended APC I've used their stuff for a while with no problems very reliable. If you want something of a bit more value Cyberpower is also good. As for capacity and size most only run for 5-10 mins when at maximum power draw, but there are extended batteries that you can add or modify with lead acid car batteries that some have done for super long run times.

Here's two version that APC makes, a smaller regular version and the backup-pro or smart UPS that can shut down your hardware once an extended power failure is detected.
