Dear Community

Build:

Motherboard: EVGA X99 FTW Motherboard

CPU: Intel Core i7 5820k

Memory: Corsair Vengence LPX CMK16X4M4A2800C16 16GB (4x4GB) DDR4

GPU: EVGA GeForce GTX 980 ACX 2.0 4GB

EVGA GeForce GTX 980 ACX 2.0 4GB

Case: Phanteks Enthoo Primo Ultimate Chasis

Storage: Seagate Barracuda 2TB ST2000DM001

Samsung 850 EVO Series 250 GB SSD

Power Unit: (I have no idea)

That's the highlights, visit This link for the cart and some other components that I want like the optical drive. Of course I want to run it in SLI.

I ask you this.

What power does this thing need? (Watt wise) (recommendations?)

Anything I'm missing in the build?

Bottlenecks? (I know 1000W....)

Good monitor to fit it?

Is the Corsair Hydro Series worth it due to the life of the liquid?

Any personnel experience with the Enthoo Primo? (can it mount the stuff?)

Comments?

I play EVE Online, and Battlefield, other assorted simulators and First Person games. Some minor screen capture.

I'm new to forum posts, my mentor moved away, so be nice-ish for me. :P

Thanks

Rlgm12

Why do you say to hold off the X99?

If you are only to game x99 is useless for you as you won't be using the benefits of the aditional cores, that's the reason you will ever go for lga 2011-3, for more cores.

But giving us the max budget we could make you something more bang for the buck.

Yeah, pretty decent build, if you really require that sort of hardware... for the PSU, I'd recommend the 850 watt EVGA G2 850W 80+ Gold.

Yes, everything in the build will easily fit into the Primo. A great case, really large.

For monitor, for just one I'd ideally go with the Acer XB280HK (here on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Acer-XB280HK-bprz-28-inch-Widescreen/dp/B00O0Z5682),or maybe two ROG Swift PG278Q's? The Corsair Hydro series is fine, but the new 100i GTX might be better, or the H110, which would still fit. You could finally also probably do better with the headphones for that price, but if you already have them, then meh.

However, yeah, depending on budget and needs, do you really need an X99 system with dual 980's?

50Cent sweg.

Thankyou all, I guess I should decide now, I still edge to the X99 due to the logical fact that it will last further years than the Z97. I'm thinking I'll get the FTW EVGA GTX 980 and that swift monitor mentioned above. Anyway, if there are any more comments, I am open to further suggestions.

At this point you might as well go X99, the extra cores should hopefully be a benefit after DX12, and it's only a few bucks more expensive. And as you said, futureproofing in general (DDR4, etc)

Specs: 4790k | Asus Z-97 Pro Wifi | MX100 512GB SSD | NZXT H440 Plastidipped Black | Dark Rock 3 CPU Cooler | MSI 290x Lightning | EVGA 850 G2 | 3x Noctua Industrial NF-F12's

Bought a powermac G5, expect a mod log sometime in 2015

Corsair is overrated, and Anime is ruined by the people who watch it
