First true headset

I am a new pc gamer who has just built my pc. After I upgrade my gpu to a gtx 970 (in July ) I want to get a good headset (red and black to go with my build) the hyper x cloud pro seems to be the best between $50 - $75 but any other suggestions? Thx!

If you can push it up a bit more get the HyperX Cloud II but otherwise go with the HyperX Cloud Pro.

Hyperx Cloud is the only "gaming" marketed headset I'd ever buy.

If you're thinking of upgrading that 280 to a 970 with a FX-6300, you're better off just spending the extra money on a proper set of headphones. 

Because that is utterly pointless on that CPU.

Why would I remain silent about such a thing. You won't notice a damn thing and spend $400. FX-6300 and 280 is a good match, only upgrade the GPU if you're also uprading the entire system.

 

Yes it doesn't answer your question, but it might be better advice than advising you on which headphones to buy.

If your willing to stretch out a bit audio technica ath ad500x is like 90$.

If you can't use open headphones get the hyper x cloud.

This is not about my cpu and all I want to do is talk about headphones I'll choose what I want but since you know I have a 6300 then you must know after I buy apparently the MSI gtx 970, my final gpu, the hyperx cloud pro, my only headset, and the corsair m65, my only gaming mouse I will upgrade to an Intel 5820k but that takes ddr4 ram and would be close to a $500 dollar upgrade so I think A newer gpu is a better fit first since I am 15 and unemployed, however if you would like to fund a new cpu mobo and ram I will gladly let you!!!

Well, 6 cores are pretty useful for streaming and rendering. I believe 4790K could chug if you're trying to do x264 encoder with 3500 bitrate 720P 60fps
