What is a waterblock for a gpu? The gpu i will buy comes with a waterblock (Gtx 680) so do you have to pump water or something or do you have to connect it? Sorry I'm pretty new to Pc building.

My Old Rig: Phenom II X4 965 4.0 ghz, Asus Motherboard, 4 GB DDR3-1333, Antec Case and PSU, no video card atm

My New Rig: i5-4590, MSI Motherboard, 8 GB DDR3-1600, Corsair Case, XFX PSU, HD 7950

A waterblock is a device used to watercool a graphics card PROVIDED YOU HAVE THE HARDWARE TO HAVE A WATERCOOL LOOP. If it DOESN'T COME with a standard fan, then DON'T BUY IT unless you are willing to spend 100+ more to get a loop.

Also a 680 is relatively old, but still good card, but I wouldn't spend more than 250 on one.

Thats right, it requires you to pump water through it to cool the gpu. A normal gpu would have an air cooler, just like a cpu air cooler, to cool the gpu. You would require a custom watercooling loop to use this card or buy a new air cooler for it to use it.

Well it was $90, but I don't have the knowledge and money to do water cool loop. Thanks guys.

I'm pretty sure its when you freeze your GPU in water so an ice block forms around, thus making the temps really low

Just kidding, @zlolslavez gave a great explanation

CPU: G3258 @ 4GHz GPU: Gigabyte GTX 960 OC RAM: 8GB G.Skill DDR3 1600 SSD: Corsair LS 120GB Case: Antec GX500 Mouse: Logitech G402 Keyboard: Razer Blackwidow Headphones: Shure SRH440 Microphone: That Zalman Zm-Mic1 that everyone recommends but noone uses

Remember when the R9 280 was the HD 7950? Pepperidge Farm remembers.
