That's the complete opposite of what I've heard, from what i've read the Kingston V300 series was advertised really well, but kingston ran a bait and switch and completely destroyed what looked to be an amazing SSD.

Hate to jinx myself here but I've never had a bad V300. (Fully expecting at least 2 RMA phonecalls tomorrow)

The V300 even feels physically solid and has much better 4k writes (albeit still a little slow). I've seen so many people break the cheap Sandisk SSDs too, they have very flimsy construction.

Well now I feel conflicted, I suppose I'll just do some more research and see how things turn out. I appreciate your help though!

Wrong, check my sig. It sucks. Cooling is the only thing that is good on it, voltage is NOT unlocked.

Also OP, investing into your perhipherals is the best thing you can do. Because those have the longest half-life and are the things you interact with most. My computer and perhipherals are about even in terms of value.

EDIT: no my perhipherals costed more...

so you can only bump the voltage to +37mV offset, like my 970 SC? well as long as you dont oc the 970 is qiet but if you do a 37mV +125mhz oc it will be like much louder, i can realy hear the jump from 31% fan speed to 40% fan speed, then i would just get the cheapest 970

The Strix allows for 0mv bumps. And the power delivery starts to throttle at stockspeeds in certain games, read the material I provide before retorting.

I'm in the market for a new PC, and came across the idea of building my own, however, as a first time buyer and builder, I have no idea on what parts to choose, although I do know some of what I want. I'd likely want an i7 processor as it has hyperthreading and is much more efficient when dealing with productivity software, I'd prefer watercooling (albeit not custom), and I'll need all peripherals excluding a monitor, which means a keyboard with Cherry MX Brown (or Blue) switches, a decent mouse, preferably one that matches the colour scheme of the rest of the build (Your choice), and a solid pair of headphones. I know my list of demands is rather high, but I hope that you can do it and I wish you luck, I appreciate the help in advance, if you have any questions i'll be happy to answer them!

Choosing a mouse is a very personal thing, so I just threw in the best I know from my personal experience. ;)

Also if you need an additional HDD, you could go with a slightly cheaper case like the Corsair 300R.

It's a few dollars over though, and only has 8GB compared to his 16GB RAM.

Also, what just happened to the topics? Were they merged?

but you only have 8GB of ram and the psu is overkill :P
