PS/2 adaptor

Xeldin

Hi all,

I've been looking at Corsair Vengeance R70 Brown for my new keyboard and is wondering if using a PS/2 adapter for the keyboard gonna change anything. My USB slots at the back of my PC is really limited.

Quick question, have there been any new edition of this keyboard? I think my information is kinda dated.

Thanks for the help

Back in the day you needed PS/2 for the n-key rollover feature.

Nowadays pretty much every keyboard can do that via USB.

So there isn't really any difference at all.

You would be best getting a PCI card to allow for more USB ports.

Main Rig - Case: Corsair 200R   Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z270-GAMING-K3  CPU: Intel i5 7600 RAM: Corsair H55 RAM: Corsair Vengeance 16GB 3000MHz SSD: Crucial MX500 1 TB

So, there's really no bad side effects if i use an adapter right?

If so, i rather get an adapter than spend more money on PCI card just for more USB.

ACK NO DO NOT GET A PS2 ADAPTER IF YOU HAVE THE RGB VERSION PLZ. The RGB software requires USB 3.0.

If you're on the non-RGB then you're fine. You'll have slightly lower latency and a free USB port. I got my adapter for 50 cents, although I'm slightly ticked my keyboard didn't ship with one because it was supposed to. Anyways, it's worth it to me to have that one USB port free and to have unnoticable shorter latency so I'll take it any day.

|PSU Tier List /80 Plus Efficiency| PSU stuff if you need it.

Thats really not bad at all. You'd have to be a wizard to be able to push more than 10 keys quickly enough to lose inputs. Even 6 key rollover is enough. :)

Was gonna say that USB provides more power so having any special features like passthroughs and backlights etc. won't work. But regular stuff like mediakeys are just fine.
