which one to buy?

levsingh

hello guys so i am planning to buy a laptop for my 3d moddeling, texturing etc games development stuff and with that gaming too, so i went with gtx 980m and right now i have two choices msi and asus i ordred both and i dont know which one to go for, i will have to pay for that stuff tommorow and then on wednesday i go and collect it.

so the specs of asus are:

i7 4860hq

24gb ram

gtx 980m 4gb

4.8kg

17.3 inch screen

cost 1,45,000 rubles

the msi dominator pro specs are:

i7 4710hq

16gb of ram

gtx 980m upgradable

3.7kg

17.3 inches

cost 1,35,000 rubles

as far as i can see the only major difference is ram. the cpu is slightly powerfull in the asus one. but the asus is 10k rubles expensive too. there are no 24gb availabe here there are 32gb rams available but they are out of my budget and i dont think i need that much ram too.

so yeah i want to use it for 3d modelling in max, use substance painter, unity engine, unreal engine stuff like that and some gaming on the go. help

As far as gaming goes 8GB is enough but id say as far as 3D rendering goes you should be fine with the 16GB, Ive never gotten into any 3D rendering though so don't take my word for it

Been playing on a laptop for 6 years, I play Dota 2 with 10fps. Some might say this is impossible, I say its just annoying

 16 is enough

and really if you need more later....ram isn't expensive

Ye i think everyone else here agrees too, 24GB of ram would be fine in a desktop but in a laptop its not very practical
