So I've designed a build, through my own opinions and several threads like these, and have come to a conclusion on a list of parts for my build, but I'd still like comments, suggestions, or anything related to my build. If you are making suggestions, please make sure you're looking in the to fit my $2000 Canadian budget. Warning: Wall of Text

So, my build is as follows:

PCPartPicker part list: http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/p/H49HK8

CPU: Intel Core i7-4790K 4.0GHz Quad-Core Processor  ($417.25 @ shopRBC) --Solid hyperthreaded CPU with excellent overall performance, and good overclockability

CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler  ($33.98 @ DirectCanada) --Quite possibly the best tower cooler for under $50, just a highly rated, and excellently reviewed cooler.

Motherboard: Asus Z97-A ATX LGA1150 Motherboard  ($178.98 @ DirectCanada) --Solid motherboard with SLI and Overclocking support, made by Asus so it's a known reputable brand.

Memory (x4): Kingston Black Series 4GB (1 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory  ($29.99 @ Memory Express) --I've found that in Canada, it's cheaper to buy 4 sticks of 4GB ram than it is to but one 16GB kit, so that's what I did.

Storage: Sandisk Solid State Drive 128GB 2.5" Solid State Drive  ($60.82 @ DirectCanada) --Boot drive with essential programs, apparently not as terrible as the price would suggest.

Storage: Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive  ($58.98 @ DirectCanada) --Steam library and other games

Storage: Seagate Barracuda 2TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive  ($92.98 @ DirectCanada) --Will be running with the other 2TB drive in raid 0 for general storage and mass media.

Storage: Seagate Barracuda 2TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive  ($92.98 @ DirectCanada) --See above ^

Video Card: Asus GeForce GTX 970 4GB STRIX Video Card  ($411.90 @ DirectCanada) --Quite possibly the best bang for your buck card at 1080p for maxing out games, also means I have access to Shadowplay for nearly no performance loss when recording.

Case: NZXT S340 (Black) ATX Mid Tower Case  ($89.99 @ Memory Express) --Solid case, looks pretty good, needs some front cooling fans though IMO.

Power Supply: EVGA 750W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply  ($79.99 @ NCIX) --Solid power supply, OEM is Super Flower, so it's a reliable piece of equipment.

Case Fan: Corsair Air Series AF140 Quiet Edition 67.8 CFM 140mm  Fan  ($18.06 @ DirectCanada) --Just used as intake fans on the NZXT S340

Case Fan: Corsair Air Series AF140 Quiet Edition 67.8 CFM 140mm  Fan  ($18.06 @ DirectCanada) --See above ^

Keyboard: Corsair Vengeance K70 Wired Gaming Keyboard  ($144.98 @ DirectCanada) --Was going to go with the K70 RGB, but opted against it as this has Cherry MX Blues, which I prefer over the Cherry MX Browns found in the K70 RGB.

Mouse: Corsair M65 RGB Wired Laser Mouse  ($79.98 @ DirectCanada) --Just a pretty good mouse, all the reviews i've seen have been pretty good, pros seem to outweigh the cons, although I'd like someone who can confirm they own it's opinion.

Headphones: Kingston HyperX Cloud Pro Headset  ($78.98 @ DirectCanada) --One of, if not the best pair of headphones available for under $100, all the reviews i've seen have been good.

Total: $1977.87
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available

cool beans.

We can't Benchmark like we used to, but we have our ways. One trick is to shove more GPUs in your computer. Like the time I needed to NV-Link, because I needed a higher HeavenBench score, so I did an SLI, which is what they called NV-Link back in the day. So, I decided to put two GPUs in my computer, which was the style at the time. Now, to add another GPU to your computer, costs a new PSU. Now in those days PSUs said OCZ on them, "Gimme 750W OCZs for an SLI" you'd say. Now where were we? Oh yeah, the important thing was that I had two GPUs in my rig, which was the style at the time! They didn't have RGB PSUs at the time, because of the war. The only thing you could get was those big green ones.

Only thing I would question would be running the hard drives in RAID 0 just out of concern for reliability/potential data loss from failure.

Other than that all the parts seem solid.

If you are unsure about the mouse I think the biggest factor would be how comfortable it is in your hand so if you are questioning it try and get one into your had if you can.

Why exactly do you need the RAID 0 instead of getting just a single, large drive?

Just for faster read's and writes, I'm not the most patient person, but I don't have the money to buy large capacity SSDs. I am going to invest in a single, very large drive, or even make a NAS for backups so I have no chance of Data loss.

Change up the case and the need for those re-damn-donkulously expensive fans is gone. To my mind the 230T is a good choice, comes with positive air pressure out of the box, and you can add 3 more fans to create neutral air pressure. Saves you around $50.
