DDOS uses open TDP and UPD ports in your router. Having none open in your router, is fatal for the DDOS.

EDIT: why the question, if I may ask?

Basic guide to CPU's!

If I said I were 14, you would call me a kid. If I say 70, you’ll entitle me too old. If I say 20 you say I’m inexperienced and if I say 40 than I'm too boring.

Well all the packets will be coming from a source IP, so there's your culprit. As for protecting against there are things you can do, but investing time in it really makes no sense what so ever. In the extremely unlikely scenario that you should become under attack just call your ISP and they'll sort you out.

There are programs to see all IP addresses you are receiving and sending packets to. There is no way to change your IP (unless ISP allows it) , but your ISP changes it automatically every month.

Also if you know who is doing it, you could contact the police.
