Does anyone know how to add friends on steam for free?

its completely free, go to steam and in the bottom right corner click "view friends list" and in the bottom of that window it says "add a friend"

answered up above but it was never not free to add friends on steam also if you search on the forums there is a steam usernames thread if you want to add people from here

I guess you need to have a game in your steam account before you can add people, which i wasn't aware of. I recommend buying L4D2, its on sale for 5$ right now :)

That doesn't work. I tried it. Just wait for the Steam game trading thread to get unlocked. That's where I started filling up my Steam library from.
