Using Laptop Drive in Desktop

justinfields

Can I use my laptop drive in my new desktop that I am building and keep the windows 8.1 installed on it?  My budget isn't that big and I would like to save money wherever possible.

you can use the laptop drive (toss it in a sturdy SSD mount) and the windows 8.1 install *should* be mostly fine...

Someone always asks this and no i don't think it will work because the license for the os is bound to the laptop, though there is no harm in trying since you can go buy it if the hard drive's os doesnt work
