so ive been looking online for around 7 days and haven't figured out anything about what PSU i need.

ok so yes im building a pc for around 1500$ i have most parts chosen but hav'nt chosen a PSU because i havnt been able to figure out anything about them.

Specs:
Motherboard: Z97-G45
CPU: I7-4790K 4 GHz
GPU: GTX 970 (yet to buy)
RAM: 16 GB ram
SSD: 250 GB
HDD: 2 TB

i do not plan to overclock at all but i want to have the option in the future.
i also do not plan to SLI
my entire system is water cooled.

IMPORTANT!
i want a PSU with no cables (meaning they dont come attached) because i want to clean it easily.

i know going to high can be bad for the system...

any recommendations?

Id reccomend the Corsair 600W PSU. Unless youre going to OC

Been playing on a laptop for 6 years, I play Dota 2 with 10fps. Some might say this is impossible, I say its just annoying

isnt that too much considering im curently not planning to SLI or overclock. (i got this CPU because its at 4 GHZ and only 40$ apart from the i7-4790 3.6 GHZ)

Ok. where are you buying from? Due to pricing and availability, what you can get in Australia may not be the same as what you can get in the US.

amazon (i live in israel and everything here costs almost 4 times more than in the us)

An option from Amazon is the XFX XTR 550w for $79.99 USD / ~320 ILS before shipping. http://www.amazon.com/XFX-Series-Certified-Modular-P1-550B-BEFX/dp/B00IPD513K

That would be more than plenty for your system.

Super Flower Leadex 650W or EVGA G2 750W

You can get Leadex at 750 as well, it'll have same internals as EVGA. These are some high quality PSUs, check JonnyGuru for reviews. EVGA has 10 year warranty if that sort of thing matters to you.

The past cannot be altered. The present holds but regret and loss. It is only in the days to come that a man may find solace. When memory fades..
Gigabyte B450i Pro WiFi | AMD Ryzen 5 2600 | SilentiumPC Fera 3 HE1224 w/ Corsair ML120 | 2x8GB DDR4 3400MHz CL16 | MSI RTX2070 Armor | Plextor M8PeG 256GB NVME | Crucial MX100 512GB | Corsair SF600 Platinum | Fractal Design Define Nano S | Dell U2518D | Filco Majestouch-2 TKL with Cherry MX Brown | Logitech G703

There wasn't any need to start a new thread, when you could have bumped up this: http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/338894-psu-recommendation/

I mean, by creating a new thread, you may left out information that would have been good to know. Like, for example, you are from Israel.

Since you aren't going to SLI or overclock, a quality 450w would be able to power your system. Since you are looking for a fully modular unit, I would stand by by my recommendation of the Antec Edge 550w.

SuperFlower Leadex units are not available in North America (Assuming that is where the op is) The EVGA is also probably a bit overkill for a single card.

The Antec Edge mentioned above, or an XFX XTR 550W would both be better.

I'm going to assume that mail-in-rebates isn't something your father will be doing.

The XFX XTR 550w unit that lee32uk had mentioned is a great PSU: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/xfx-power-supply-p1550bbefx

It's the same Seasonic G unit internally as the Antec Edge I had recommended but cheaper. See if your dad can go with that.
