I was set on grabbing a z97 mobo for a budget build I'm working on, and when it came time to purchase, I was slapped in the face with this combo:

Total: $93.97

Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available

Generated by PCPartPicker 2015-03-31 00:02 EDT-0400

It's $35 off for buying these two together.

Would I be restricted from overclocking the G3258? If I can't overclock the G3258, then I have no interest in this combo.

Anyone have a heads up on this?

CPU: Intel i5-4690k                                                               RAM: 16gb Corsair Vengance Pro DDR3-2400                                                                     Case: NZXT S340

Mobo: Asus Z97-A 3.1                                                          GPU: 980ti G1                                                                                                                          OS: Windows 10 Pro

You can overclock on that B85, do not fret.

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.

Great PC start you got there man! Now to pair it with a decent GPU and 8GB RAM ;)

Also, don't forget to check the "Hot Deals" subforum as some stuff can be found cheap. Hint, you can find the Sandisk Ultra Plus 120GB for less than $50 if you check PCPartPicker :)

Just trying to get my GF back in the game for as little as possible. We play ESO and we need the single thread performance of Intel, typical MMO. I have a 4690k(see signature) but if we start her on the G3258, she can upgrade to a 4690k later. At that point we'd both have the g3258 as a back up CPU seeing as it will fit both of our motherboards.

Skip the CPU cooler and SSD if it's too rich for your blood, but the rest are quite solid.
