All CPUs perform slightly differently in terms of overclocking. Its what we call the "silocone lottery". One chip may hit 5 GHz, while another may barely run stock speeds. Also, GHz isn't everything when it comes to gaming. Bottom line, if you are getting a 5820k for gaming, you are really doing something wrong :P

The 5820k should easily be overclocked to 4.0ghz. The I7 5820k is faster in multi-threaded, but since being on the same architecutre as the 4790k, it has lower clock-speed and thus lower-single core perfroemence. If you aint sure you wanna risk it, go here -
