Overclocking a i7 5820k

Can the 5820k easily be overclocked to have a higher GHz compaired lets say a 4790k which I believe correct me if I'm wrong cause I'm not for sure on this the more GHz u have it will performs better in gaming?

All CPUs perform slightly differently in terms of overclocking. Its what we call the "silocone lottery". One chip may hit 5 GHz, while another may barely run stock speeds. Also, GHz isn't everything when it comes to gaming. Bottom line, if you are getting a 5820k for gaming, you are really doing something wrong

If its for gaming, which I assumed from the OP, its a bit of a waste of money. is it for gaming though, because I could be wrong in my assumption?

Most will be for gaming,streaming,editing,recording which I thought It would be amazing for all of that and a little of CAD and inventor for school

In that case, it will be perfect for the job.

The 5820k should easily be overclocked to 4.0ghz. The I7 5820k is faster in multi-threaded, but since being on the same architecutre as the 4790k, it has lower clock-speed and thus lower-single core perfroemence. If you aint sure you wanna risk it, go here -

What about plan gaming if I'm not recording or recording maybe ing with streaming at the same time

And I'm getting the cpu for 300$ which is cheaper than the 4790k at micro center
