No, you do a USB stick with the new bios on another computer. You boot into the stock bios and select bios flash or something similar.

get a local shop to do it for you..they do it for free for me at my local place

if not free...it shouldn't cost more then 20$

and even  thats a bit much...id personally only pay 10$ if I had to
