980 or 970 sli

I play @ 2560x1440 @ 96hz, The thing is right now i can buy 1 980 or 2 970.

 

I don't really play much games but i do play BF4, Fps games some mmorpg.

 

I"ve heard about the 3.5gb on the 970, but still i'm one of those players that don't play @ max settings.

 

BF4  @ high settings etc.

 

So i'm leaning tors the 970 sli.

But which brand ?.

gigabyte g1 ?

 

budget is 700$ US.

And don't worry about the vram issue. People made a lot bigger deal out of it than it really was.

I used to have 970 SLI, had issues running in 4K - my single 980 has much more reliable results. You should be fine at 1440p tho

However, If you can get a 980 in only 3 months, I recommend sucking it up with low fps right now and getting the 980 SLI later.
