How much better will Pascal be than Maxwell, looking from the current info we have on it. Also, will NvLink require a new motherboard chipset or will it work with current bards?

Well i asked this as i am planning a mod project with a friend that i will do over the holidays with a custom HAF Stacker and WIFI RGB LEDs. The stacker will be modded to fit quad 480mm rads with a rad bracket and a magnetic dust filter. I was wondering, should i just use my 980 and wait 6-9 months (will be using an Acer XB270HU) or jump onto the Titan X?

And if we get Dual-GPU Pascal cards (as adding 4 of them is supported via 8-Way SLI) will quad 480mm rads be able to support that along with a single 5960X?

I hate when people put out threads like this. Just Buy a GPU now and upgrade when new stuff comes out. Maxwell literally just came out. You'll be waiting 6+ months regardless. Even then 10x the performance increase is impossible. In one generation 10x the performance increase to the next is impossible. Honestly if you need it now buy it now. If not then don't ask about stuff we have no information about. Like how are we supposed to know?

Ok, but what about NVLINK, will it require a new chipset?

I suggest you see the answers I gave you yesterday: You don't need quad titan x, and you don't need a 5960x. I promise that answer hasn't changed.

The projects never end in my line of work.

NVLINK is super computer territory from what I know of. Not really something that will be shown in mainstream hardware for many years.

As for how fast Nvidias next architecture will be. Not a clue. they first have to come close to actually getting that stuff done first.
