I am designing a PC case to be manufactured and produced. Right now, the exterior is designed as a top and a bottom piece that comes together, like this:

However, you can never manufacture 2 pieces to fit perfectly. This means that when the top and bottom panels come together, there will be a small slit in between them. So my question is simple: Does the existence of the slit bother you?

Thanks for the feedback!

I care too much about looks instead of internals so I say yes

It can be filled in with foam around the edges.

Our Grace. The Feathered One. He shows us the way. His bob is majestic and shows us the path. Follow unto his guidance and His example. He knows the one true path. Our Saviour. Our Grace. Our Father Birb has taught us with His humble heart and gentle wing the way of the bob. Let us show Him our reverence and follow in His example. What I'd do is make the gap a little wider so it gives the impression more that it was designed to have a gap, for ventilation or something, rather than there being one due to manufacturing tolerances.

Also have the shell made of a reasonably sturdy material like thick aluminium, so it feels like quality. Would look nice, anodized in black.

I cannot be held responsible for any bad advice given.

I've no idea why the world is afraid of 3D-printed guns when clearly 3D-printed crossbows would be more practical for now.

My rig: The StealthRay. Plans for a newer, better version of its mufflers are already being made.

Intentionally widening the gap is a good idea. Thanks a lot! It'll be more work for our designer, but as long as we end up with something great it's all good.

Right now, the shell and the internal skeleton (not shown) are projected to be made of 1.5mm aluminum. We have made a rough prototype with 1.5mm aluminum, and it's definitely sturdy enough.

Nice external finish- sandblasted. I have it on my silverstone FT05 and it looks amazing
