I keep getting flickers while running my monitor through this new DisplayPort cable I got off eBay.

Is it:

  • A bad cable
  • A bad overclock (happens while idle so wut)
  • A bad monitor
  • A bad GPU

Define Flickering... you move around you see artifacts? or as like in 60Hz where you see jitters and ehwhwww.. not smooth pic.?

Occasionally I get like a flash of static like analogue TVs..

Only a bit on top if you get me not the entire screen.

It's like a wave :)

Uhmm yeah, that's the cable .. :) Try another one.. buy from a local store that you know.. not Ebay.

(Had the same with my DVI cable when I tried to plug in my friend's 120Hz monitor.. at first it was weird.. really weird that i cant even explain how weird it was, like literally it was SUPPPER weird.. but when I used my high quality HDMI cable and hacked the monitor to work in 120Hz not 60Hz even tho it didnt seem 120Hz, it made me approve that it was indeed the cable.)

1. It's not the GPU, I mean.. you see a picture.. it works and your PC doesnt shut down.

2. Not overclocking, PC doesn't shut down.

3. Not the monitor, cuz the bloody thing works.

6666666. Must be the cable. hmmmm

Try and take a pic of it!

That's not how overclocking your GPU or how having a bad monitor works......

Uhuh.. You might want to use a different cable mate.

I will just complain to the cable manufacturers and see if I can get a replacement. Doubt it will help but YOLO

It might actually be the drivers as it hasn't happened since I had my drivers reinstalled..
