Video+Audio editing forum & DTS to Premiere Pro question

Hey there community!

1: It's a pity that we don't have a section for video- and audio editing on this board yet. Would be great if that was added some time.

2: I have a video in AVC and its audio in DTS (6 channel - 1.510 Kbps) format packed in a MKV package. I can put them in an M4V package so I can import the video into Premiere Pro. However, since Premiere Pro doesn't support DTS as an import source, I'd like to know from you guys whether you know of ways to do so.

I have had a quick look at audio file types (AAC, AC3, DTS) and am stuck at how I am going to import the DTS without loosing any quality and/or channels.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance!

:P

Not sure about your problem though.

Maybe you can convert it to .FLAC since that is high quality too.

Thanks, buddy.

It is very confusing to see that in the "HARDWARE" section, since it is all about video editing on a software level. In the links you've provided, it is mostly about cameras and speakers/mics. What I meant was a section where you could discuss rendering, modification, cutting, mixing, muxing, animating, ... editing in general. :)

I'll see if FLAC solves the problem.

Quote people when answering them, that way they get a notification of your reply.

Either way, I don't think the 'market' is big enough for a specific sub forum for audio and video editing.

You see some threads about it, but not a whole lot. Not as much as GPU's or CPU's or something ;)

I assume the mono wav files are an extraction of the separate channels rather than a 6x copy of a master channel. Do you know of any software capable of splitting the dts into its channels?
