Find another 780 Ti, or upgrade to Titan X?

Quite simply, I want more horsepower.  I recently made the decision to throw my money at an ROG Swift monitor.  I've been using 144Hz monitors for quite some time, and I don't want to sacrifice my frame-rates.  My options right now are to either find another 780 Ti, or sell my current one and scrounge up the money for a Titan X.  Typically, I'd go for another 780 Ti, but I have had absolutely no luck finding another reference cooled 780 Ti.

I wish I could carelessly buy another 780 Ti, but for the sake of eye-candy and heat, I would rather find another reference.

3GB of VRAM i personaly find too little for 1440p if you want to max out the settings...i tested using nvidia DSR feature and at 1440p i run out of VRAM rather quickly in many games...and this is the games that are out ATM...not future games which will be even worse...i would go with a card with more VRAM personaly.

12gb vram is unbeatable.

Yeh u might get a lil morefps right now for 1440p with 2 780ti

but u will hit a limit in vram soon enough consider dx12 and game developers making high texture game That require more vram now ex: shadow of mordor.

Get another $350 780ti, then sell those when you can get Pascal. That's the best solution and more reasonable.

Well..... If I can put up with a 7850 with 1 Gb Vram for as long as I did I think 780ti's can last you just fine. Hehehe.

 

Although you could just ship to AMD and get the 8 Gb 290X until Pascal or 390X.

 

If you must have a Titan X though, then I don't think anyone will be able to convince you otherwise.

 

$1300 seems to be the going price at this point. 6 Gb cards seem to be the optimum Vram buffer though as I've seen tests

 

done and 12 Gb is never even close to being used. I'd say 50% of it is being utilized. I think they put 12 on there just for the lulz.

 

The double precision is gone as well. I guess they felt no need for it...???

 

Have you thought about the 980 4Gb cards? If not...why?

 

You could sell the 780ti and just pay like $250 for a 980 until Pascal.... The 780ti cards still have a lot of value.
