OVERHEATING PENTIUM

Go to solution Solved by Syte,

I get this problem once in a "blue" moon. (joke: blue because I am having color crashes)

lol, anyway it crashes but it never the same, but under the same circumstances.

Circumstance : My temps are really high

Like I said; you probably installed your stock cooler incorrectly.

My temps are 85c

Stock cooler?

Hey, I have an overheated pentium g3258. I built my pc, with an r7 270x and im using the default cpu cooler.

My case only has one fan in the back, should I buy more fans for my case or a new cpu coolr.

What are the actual temps and overclock?

Even on stock cooling at 4.0GHz I was unable to get any of the 50+ Pentiums I've used to hit over 70c in AIDA64,

What voltage are you using?

Here's 2 weeks worth of pentiums:

Its not overclocked .______________. and i only have one danky fan. Also, I am using the stock cooler, I have family that has another stock from an I5.

I have another question. Every month or so, I crash and it changes colors each time. Is it because of my cpu overheating?

"It changes colours" ?? What do you mean?

If you're 85c on stock you probably mounted your CPU cooler wrong, I'd recommend getting some MX-4 thermal paste, 99% alcohol, and cleaning off both the cooler and CPU, re-mount properly (youtube guides to do this) using the uncooked grain of rice method and you're set.

Perhaps I should have phrased it differently: why? Did you bin them for custom builds?

Customer request. If they want their overclock to be professionally done I can do that for them. *Knock on wood* still to this day have not had an overclock fail.

Dude, that's awesome! If only I could build more computers for others! My friends are the only people who have requested so. It would be a pretty awesome side gig, especially if I could get someone who needs a Firepro/Quadro~
