I feel that I have the worst luck when It comes to receiving items in the mail undamaged.

One big issue I had was when I was a mobile DJ and ordered a sub online that was shipped through UPS, Result was a damaged sub.

The most recent is I ordered a nice desk for my new PC/Office and the thing came in damaged, second is I just got my 4690k in the mail from B&H, actual box was smashed in on the corner.

Anyone have this issue or is it just me?

I'm experiencing something right now that is not related to PC parts, but still related to bad luck with postal services :

A month ago, I ordered some really nice WW2 German militaria for my collection. Some real nice pieces, and one that is particularily rare. I made the mistake of picking FedEx for the shipping service (which I never do, but the package is from Germany and I didn't know the other services that were offered by the seller). And now the whole thing is gone. Lost.

The funny thing is that I had to initiate the case. I kept checking at the tracking status and started to get anxious when it didn't move from "In Transit" for more than two weeks. I called and was told that it was caused by generalized delays. The day after, they called me to say that they don't know where the package is. The whole thing was very unprofessional. The guy actually began by asking "What's up with your package?" He said his first name, no title, nothing, and then started to give attitude when I asked to know who I was talking. It's been more than a week and the only feedback that I've gotten from them is a one-liner "Nothing found yet sorry".

I can't believe that they didn't detect that something was wrong when it said "In Transit" for so long. I would think that such a huge company would have systems to detect that there's an issue when all packages in a truck have been delivered, but one is still said to be in the truck. Anyways, I'm probably screwed as they only cover up to 100 USD OR the declared value, so I asked the seller what value he had declared, but he never answered. I'm very disappointed by the whole case but I have to be super nice to everybody since I know that they don't care about their customers, and getting angry would only make things worse with them.

Moral of the story : I'll never use FedEx again.

As far as I can remember, I only used their service three times, and only one of them went smoothly. No wonder they screwed Tom Hanks over as well.

Logistics makes the world work better

When the planes in the sky for a chain of supply that's logistics

When the parts for the line come precisely on time that's logistics

A continuous link that's is always in sync that's logistics

Carbon footprint reduced bottom line gets a boost that's logistics

With new ways to compeat they all be chise on Wall Street that's logistics

When technology knows just where everything goes that's logistics

Bells will ring ring a ding ring a ding ring a ding that's logistics

There will be no more stress cause you called UPS that's logistics

Made me think of that UPS ad lol.

Just some fans and something else I can't really remember nothing of much importance. Luckily newegg understands how terrible ups and and had about 4 feet of bubble wrap in the box. The could have easily gone with a tiny box but they don't really do that anymore. At least not for the things I order. Last ssd I bought from them arrived in a box that could fit 40 ssd's.

I buy a lot of b-grade stuff and sometimes the only thing wrong with it is the box is a little beaten up. Also there are times I've bought stuff new that's arrived in a shipping box and packaged inside the actual item's factory-packed box has been trashed beyond anything I've bought B-grade. :0/

The funny thing is if I buy it B-grade and don't care about the box but when I buy new I still don't really care about the box but feel like I should have got a discount if it's trashed.

Most of my components (almost all) over the years have come from eBay some stuff from China re-purposed with the wrong drivers that just about work for what I need them for, most stuff without a manual and often not particularly functional. I'm kind of past all of that now but to be honest, as long as it arrives and it's working I tend not to worry too much since it's just such a pain to have to return things.

I once received a CPU that had all of its pins bent slanted equally at the same angle like someone had stepped on it. I just fitted the thing and went about my day.
