OEM Windows Help?

I built a computer for a friend of mine and I installed an OEM copy of Windows for him. Can I use his Windows CD to install Windows on my PC, but enter in the Activation Key that came with my PC instead?

when buying windows..you aren't really buying the software you are buying the cd key

 

Isn't that the same thing? You should put it more like "you aren't buying the install media, you are buying key for software".
