Hey guy so I think that when I was setting up my storage solution for my HDD and SSD I might have screw things up.

I no longer have a desktop Section in my library and certain folders have the name of my HDD and just show whats in my HDD, (for example music is gone and a folder will be there that say's whatever the name of my hardrive) and everything I put in my HDD immediately appears on my desktop (not sure if this is normal or not). I simply dont seem to have the option,to store thing on my harddrive without them appearing on my desktop. Do you know what i did wrong and how to fix it?

Sorry if its an unorganized post,

Thanks

Sounds like you linked your destination folder for your desktop to directly the hard drive, move anything important into a single folder and make sure not to delete it and try to remap it so that you have folders layout inside of the hard drive like Desktop or Downloads and the bunch before using it as mass storage.

Thanks for the quick reply :)

Could you maybe link a guide to remaping, and creating the proper layoutso that i dont screw it up again?

not to mention I probably forgot how.

Thanks Again!

First you'd want to make some destination folders inside the HDD for places to remap to. After wards you'll need to find the currently mapped or located desktop or downloads folder and go into it's properties, locations tab and change it's placement to the new HDD with the folder you made earlier.

Can I just remap my current folders Like downloads, documents, music ect.. on to my hdd or do I have to create new folders with the same name within my HDD

You can make new names for the folders in the HDD, it's not specific to the name, but when you go into to the original location of your documents folder for example and right click proprieties and go to the locations tab you are allow to select move to this new location which is a place you want in the HDD or target option i think where it references to another folder in the HDD you made.

K so just a few more questions (sorry this took so long), you said I linked my desktop folder destitination directly to my harddrive. I get how to remap my folders in my computer (thanks to u) but im a bit confused in what I did wrong with my desktop. Do I remap it to my hdd like my other folders, or do I have to do something different? Also I dont know where my desktop folder is because it nolonger have it in my computer, there just 2 folder with the name as my hardrive, why is that and how can I get rid of it/get it to shown to desktop.

It probably linnked it directly to the HDD so if you right click properties into the HDD and go into locations and check default it should say C:\user\desktop or something similar from there you can change it back to the default SSD or change it to a new folder or location in the HDD to get more space.

So I want my desktop Icons to be On my HDD and im not trying to be rude but I have NO IDEA what your saying.

-Go into the folder that has the name of my hardrive.

-Right click it, chose properties and go into locations and change it to my HDD. (so do you mean remap it like I would my documents folder?)

I'm still a bit foggy on why my desktop has the name of my hardrive and how im suppose to change it back to say desktop.

I also dont understand what you mean by i linked it directly to my HDD is that different than remaping it?

Sorry I really dont mean to be a pest

I seems like you may have linked your desktop directly to the harddrive and not a folder within it, same procedure as the document folder just make a new folder inside of the HDD for your desktop files and remap it into the HDD. To access the location tab this time you will need to right click properties on the HDD itself and set it from there if you previously set your desktop to be your whole HDD instead of a folder inside it.
