RAM only running at, 1333

Im using 2x 4gb of corsair vengance lp ram, it says on the box that it runs at 1600 mhz, but my bios tells me diffrently. They are running in dual channel mode

Also, the difference between 1333mhz and 1600mhz is not noticeable in day to day usage.

Your cpu or motherboard can be bottlenecks if there is no way to change the speed

You need to set up XMP in the BIOS. Once you turn it on, you should be able to set the speed to 1600MHz. Save the changes and you should be done. 

 

Check it with something like CPU-Z (Note: it will likely say that it's running at 800MHz. Double Data Rate makes it effectively 1600MHz)

Asuming you won't find it off the bat in the bios, it's in the "OC" tab at the bottom.   From an now less confused msi owner

Change the XMP profile in the bios, but you are not going to notice any difference, unless you're using an APU's integrated graphics.
