Computer insurance?

Go to solution Solved by iruixos,

Well,i'll call tomorrow. Thanks guys. :)

Check to see if they have any limits for personal computer hardware (how much they'll cover). If they do, see if you can schedule some high ticket items specifically on the policy (ie. expensive graphics card, etc).

For example, the company I work for imposes no such limits for personal computer hardware and is covered up to the maximum amount of personal property/contents limit. Do note that all policies are subject to policy conditions and exclusions.

Warranty. You have it on each part.

Home and contents should cover that.

Water spills? I don't think so.

not likely. usually a homeowners insurance policy will cover most damages from

devastation, but accidental usually isn't covered, unless more expensive

premiums are kept.

Do you mean coverage on your PC from damage you cause or damage from something like a natural disaster?  Wrong guy, sorry.

I have renter's insurance and that covers fires, theft, sprinkler damage, and other stuff like that but accidental damage won't be covered. Pretty much anything but accidental damage is covered under renter's insurance.

Well each part should be covered by the manufacturer. Like for EVGA the GPU is covered from ANYTHING as long as there is no physical damage.

CPU: Ryzen 5 5600 Motherboard: MSI B550 Tomahawk RAM: 32Gb DDR4  GPU(s): MSI 6800-XT Case: NZXT H440 Storage: 4x 250gb SSD + 2TB HDD PSU: Corsair RM850x with CableMod Displays: 1 x Asus ROG Swift And 3 x 24" 1080p Cooling: H100i Keyboard: Corsair K70 RGB Mouse: Corsair M65 RGB Sound: AKG 553 Operating System: Windows 10

Say,something where to happen to it. Anything.

Well, insurance covers if it were stolen or whatnot, a home explosion would also fit under that most likely. Damage you do is up to the companies and their warranties.

insurance policies are content covered for major devastation (be it fire, weather,

disaster) but for non-event issues, they won't cover unless you specify type

of damages, but then your premiums will be higher overall.

I meant to quote someone else, thanks for the clarification anyway.

Hey guys! How could i get some kind of insurance for my $2000 PC? If something happened... It'd be a b*** to get the money again. Anyways, who could insure my PC for accidents Water spills, explosions etc...?

I'm the the USA by the way.

most companies I've dealt with have been pretty good about the warranty services within the period, and I buy on American Express platinum which extends warranty by a year and includes 30 days of "oh S**t i done fu***d up" coverage

Mine does, so long as I pay the excess for making a claim that is.

I would say check with your broker, in Canada I have a separate rider on my camera gear (about $3000 worth) that covers me for loss and damage. We pay a few % of the gears value and can make claims without a deductible, claims also do not affect our home insurance.
