I'm looking to build my first computer soon and I have some questions about graphics cards.

I mostly use photoshop and lightroom and was wondering if they support GPU acceleration. Also, what would a good graphics card be? Will a quadro or firepro add any performance increase? Or will something like a r7 260x be good enough?

I may also use the computer for light gaming such as league of legends.

My budget is around $1000 for everything. It will be as a hobby. I should also add that I am planning on using a 1440p monitor with it.

Is the monitor included in the $1000? Maybe post a parts list so we can see what you have so far. It would make recommending a card easier.

No, the monitor is not included.

I might get a 4790K instead, probably making my budget $1100-$1200

I'm simply going to recommend AMD simply because of price point, a 960/970 should be fine though if you cans queeze everything in.

Be aware that a fair amount of people are of the opinion that the CX series PSUs are not really meant for higher end PC builds. Maybe reconsider that.

Wasn't aware you budget was in CAD. I'd say try to find a deal on a 280.
