so i started taking some german courses on Rosetta stone and am a bit confused.

 

To all you that speak german, what is the rule for capitalization? It seems as though some words are randomly capitalized in the middle of sentences such as Mann und Frau.

Nouns are capitalized along with names and the word that start a sentence.

Yeah, nouns, and first word (like usual).

like:

 

Ich spiele Fussball.

 

Es ist sehr toll.

 

Meine Mutti ist dick.

 

Geschicte ist mein leiblings Fach.

 

Es ist Fingernagellacker.

YEah, i dont know german that well either, but i have been taking in school for 3-4 years

Nouns are capitalized, as well as the words Sie and Ihr when adressing someone formally (Sie instead of du, Ihr instead of dein)
