660ti for price/performance for CUDA

I use Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 and my GTX 780 is overkill. If you aren't doing anything crazy then the 660ti is a perfect card.

If you are doing some super involved stuff like multiple streams of video on screen at once with color correction and scaling you will need something like a Titan.

The 770 is a great card for both gaming and editing.

If he edits on Adobe software like Premiere CC (Creative Cloud), go for a 7950 or a 7970, Adobe is officially dropping support for CUDA & will only use OpenCL, the 600 & 700 series cards don't perform well with OpenCL.

If he edits on Sony vegas, then tell him to invest in a CPU, something like an FX 8350 or a 3770K.
