Do i need a better psu?

Hello i just got my r9 280x which is an upgrade from my r7 250 oc but since installed it my pc has been slower i think it's my PSU not enough power i have 400 W PSU

 

 

Specs: 

 

r9 280x 

 

intel pentium g3220 3.0 ghz 

 

4 gb ddr3 ram 

 

1 spare cooler

oh god. 500w is the minimum. Put your old card back in until you can get a new PSU. Also, try your hardest to get 4gb of RAM, it will make a biggg difference in gaming

yea  thing is i kinda sold my old gpu but i am saving to get 600 W PSU it will be 4-6 months till i get some stable ground on my money i was saving like 6-7 months to get the 280x  but will the gpu get damaged that is what i am afraid of

Extreme Power supply calculator says 394 watts but that shouldnt slow your system.

 

I think that there is a bottleneck with the pentium and the gpu

ok look i am afraid i saved like 6-7 months fot this gpu and for a prity penny in my country plz tell me what is the problem here bcuz my pc is realy like realy slowing down

You really need new PSU, 400W is eventualy going to kill your PC for sure!!

ok i removed the GPU now i just have to wait to get the monez for my new PSU sigh ok 1 more question will i get an fps increse bcuz i tryed bf3 yesterday on ultra medium low all 30 fps so will i see a boost?

Yes. Which one specifically? YOu don't want to massively cheap out.

I'm not sure. I wouldn't say so, but from reading the rest of the thread, I'd upgrade it as soon as you can becuase 400W is NOT enough for your system/
