Hi! Welcome to the LTT forum. :)

Are you going to be overclocking? If not.

You can get the same performance by going with a i5-4460 and a good H97 motherboard like the Asus H97-Plus.

The rest is good. Crucial SSD's are cheap and very good. 1TB Western Digital Blue HDD's are also cheap and very good.

CPU: Intel Core i5-4460 3.2GHz Quad-Core Processor  ($178.99 @ SuperBiiz)

So I have 8GB (2x 4GB DDR3)  already, and I only need to spend around $50 on a case. 500w will work fine, right?  Do I need a cpu cooler?  I would like to eventually overclock.  Also is the Apevia X- Sniper 2 case any good? With everything on Amazon except the cooler, it came out to $917.

Oh and does the h97-pro have wifi?

Oh good, well then the money you save there can go towards the 4690K. Yes, thanks to the low power usage of the GTX 970 500W is enough.

For overclocking, yes. You definitely do. You could hold off with it until you decide to overclock and use the stock cooler but for better temps and noise in general you can get a good, cheap one like the 212 EVO from Cooler Master that J. Cole recommended. It'll be good for light overclocking down the road too.

That's an interesting case, IMHO I doesn't look like the front panel does much good for the front panel airflow. Did you check the case I listed?

You could check out the NZXT S340.

For your first build I would recommend the best budget case (also sexy looking)- NZXT S340 in White :>

I'm not really trying to spend more than $50 on the case.  If the one I listed will do just fine I'm cool with it :).  Also does the motherboard you listed have wifi? My room is upstairs, and would love to have wifi ability.

Also a case that has good cable management would be nice :)

Shoot, I'm gonna also need an optical drive.  Any good one's for cheap?
Oh and one more thing, are there any good cheap wireless rgb backlit keyboards?
