While I wanted to give Windows 10 a try, I just didn't have that good of an experience with it. The GUI felt somewhat clunky, restricted, and unresponsive, Cortana doesn't even feel like a working prototype, and the MDE system felt almost equivalent to the days of when it was first implemented into Ubuntu and similar distros. The OS actually caused my computer to lag in general when compared to everything from Windows 7 up to 8.1, which my computer can actually run Adobe CS6 on. Overall it just felt very clunky and unpolished, which is a given since it's in Alpha, but it just felt horrible even by those standards. I upgraded and was hoping that it would be better, but I was sorely disappointed.

My main question is what were your experiences with it? Did you enjoy it? Did you think that it could use a lot of tuning? Did you think that it was worse than Windows 8/8.1? Better? Leave your thoughts in the comments below.

You do realize that it is a technical preview right? There are bound to be optimizations/improvements in speed and aesthetics for the final version.

snip bruh

Were you running it on a VM or as a main OS?

As spenser said, it won't be amazing on the tech preview and optimisations will be made.

When I ran it on a VM it wasn't the best experience but it was perfect in terms of speed and usability when I used it as a main OS, it just had bugs and the like at the time.

Better than 8.1 by far.

Technical Preview are early beta version of the OS.

Nothing is complete and many things are missing.

Technical Preview is not for everyone. It is aimed for power users, IT professional, and developers who understands fully what is an OS, what is "Beta", has a general idea of what is the development process, basically.

Microsoft does not recommend using it as your main OS.

As mentioned its not ready. If you run SLI be apprehensive, I was fighting to access nvidia control panal when I had it to enable the second card, the thing just refused to boot unless it was off a fresh driver install. As soon as I rebooted it wouldnt open again. Its the main reason I went back to 8.1
