So I was browsing the local classifieds site and found this: http://saintjohn.kijiji.ca/c-buy-and-sell-computers-Custom-Build-gaming-Desktop-W0QQAdIdZ497651309

Basically this guy challenged the viewers of the ad to find a better deal on that system. This is what I came up with*:

*I chose a black case, because I have no clue what an armour black case is. :P

I also laughed a bit to myself about the 850W PSU and 16 GB of RAM...

Don't forget to add another drive since it say it has 2 dvd multidrives  But it will still be cheaper. So do you get a reward for winning this challenge?

I would add another SSD or another 2TB HDD just to show that you matched his price with more components, showing that yours is the best bank for the buck at $2500 :)

Well, it'll be around $100 cheaper due to taxes and shipping. If you bought it off the guy you'd just pick it up and hand him the $2500 in cash. (The seller assumes only locals are looking at it.)

ok so the post is made on kijiji.ca .... last time i checked .ca means that person is in Canada... not to mention the "st john new brunswick" should be a dead giveaway. all of you fail.

Prices on parts are very similar in the U.S and Canada. The U.S just tends to get a lot more mail in rebates.

Not sure what part of Canada you live in...but ok.

Maybe you should recheck your prices on Canadian websites like Newegg.ca and Ncix.ca and then tell me that the prices are similar.  Dream world, wake up.

For most products they are similar, not the same. I would say Canada's prices are a little bit more, but not A LOT like the UK where prices can be 100 dollars more for stuff. Canada, the difference is like 15-20 tops, I've found so far in my 3 builds anyways.

$2091 in the U.S.

$2259 in Canada.

Add $50 to the U.S price for the rebates I mentioned.

2259 - 2141 = 118

118 / 10 (#of items) = $11.80 (average difference in price.)

Not that much difference.
