Hi guys

Sooooo I've noticed my PC is a bit loud lately. Thinking about picking up 5 Bitfenix Spectre Pro 120mm to replace my 140mm Corsair AF fans

I'll list off all the components that produce noise in my rig:

Hyper T4 (same 120mm fan as 212 evo)

XFX 280X DD (2x 92mm fans)

3x Corsair AF Quiet Edition 140mm

Now here's where it gets interesting..

I have 2 HDDs. One is a 500gb Caviar Blue from 2011, and the other is a 500gb drive salvaged from an old Toshiba laptop.

Also, I'm using the built in fan controller on my Corsair 780t since my mobo didn't have enough fan headers

Thanks guys! I know this isn't very important, I just want my PC to be silent. I don't care about gaming, since I usually have headphones on, but the rest of the time I feel like the case fans aren't even need..

be quiet! Silent Wings 2 are literally dead silent in my PC, can't hear it over my PSU or the pump for my H100i. It's pressurized enough so it can go on your heatsink and as a case fan. I highly recommend them.

FANBOY OF: PowerColor, be quiet!, Transcend, G.Skill, Phanteks

FORMERLY FANBOY OF: A-Data, Corsair, Nvidia

DEVELOPING FANBOY OF: AMD (GPUS), Intel (CPUs), ASRock

Corsair fans are loud at 100%, but think the real problem is that 120mm CM fan on the heatsink.  I replaced my stock 212 fan within the first month.  The Corsair fans are controlled by the 780t fan controller?  So why are they loud?  Run them at half speed.

They are at the lowest speed they can go. Still the loudest thing in my system :/

your best bet is just to buy a cheap fan speed controller. i have a floppy drive sized one (cost about £4) that sits in a 3.5" bay, i set all my case fans to about 25% which is barely audible. obviously faster speeds will give better cooling, but i went for a silent built. the loudest part of my case is my GPU when its getting hot. My tempts across the board are very good.

Gaming PC: • AMD Ryzen 7 3900x • 16gb Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 3200mhz • Founders Edition 2080ti • 2x Crucial 1tb nvme ssd • NZXT H1• Logitech G915TKL • Logitech G Pro • Asus ROG XG32VQ • SteelSeries Arctis Pro Wireless

Laptop: MacBook Pro M1 512gb

This many fans will cause noise no matter how slow they spin, also check if the way of the air is getting blocked by something it's not supposed to, check in task manager if anything spins the 2 HDD's on high load (happened to me), and take the CD rom out of your PC, but i hope it's not the problem xD

None of the fans you're using are very quiet. Spectre Pros are a good example of what a loud fan would be.

What's your budget? Have you set a custom fan curve with software like Msi Afterburner?

Have you considered doing a simple graphics card mod?
