I have 16 gigs of this memory in my comp. it runs at 1866mhz out of the box on its own without having to enable the xmp feature. My question is if you normally wait to enable xmp until you got a stable overclock will this being self enabled limit the stability of say a higher overclock? what would happen if i enabled xmp? Really just trying to figure out if i need to switch out my memory to achieve the best overclock.

XMP is just there like loading a UEFI profile to run the RAM at its rated settings without you having to go and input them all yourself. I always enable it by default and don't OC my RAM.

Yeah i got it disabled right now because it runs at 1866 through hyperx programming.

1866 is not high enough to really to cause instabilities quickly when you overclock. Its more of an issue when you get to 2400 mHz and ahead or if you are going for a monster overclock like 4,8 gHz

Asus 5way optimization feature takes my comp all the way to 5100 mhz. whan i try to run cinebench it crashes of course but yeah 5.1 ghz lol.
