in big trouble..

Hey guys,

I've been facing fps drops for 2-3 secs or even more and then back to normal in almost every game. Also my gpu isn't giving me the expectd fps like for advanced warfare i'm geting 60 fps instead of 100 plus. I have a asus strix gtx 970 and fx 8350.

Do i experience this stuttering because my card is instald on a 4x slot ?

And I'm using a gen 2 motherboard( 990fx r2.0) Is that a contributing factor too?

What is your CPU usage like? And your GPU Usage and you GPU vRAM usage like?

The 8350 is likely holding you back for these newer games especially.

You can't get 100 FPS in AW. It's capped at 90.

Wel i don't overclock. my gpu usage is at most 150 w and cpu 125w

Usage, as in the percentage the application is taking advantage of the processor. You can find this out with programs like EVGA Precision, MSI Afterburner, etc.

In games like watchdogs the gpu usage is 98 percnt max.

If you've been getting drops for years and now you have a 970 which is still very new....i don't think it's the card.

Ive built a new pc. Its jst that im using a generation 3 card on a pci expres 2.0 slot in x4 which i wl change to x16. That was a mistake.

Is this problem related to my cpu ?

Fx 8350.

yeah i would say look at going to H97 or Z97 or even a B85 motherboard.
