so i have my C drive, which has windows 7 on it. i have my E drive which has all my games on it, but i recently plugged in a new 250gb HDD i took from my linux box, i can't reformat it through windows through either disk manager or the win 7 installation disk. however i can still boot to it and load up ubuntu from it.

what i mean by being unable to reformat it is that the option to is completely greyed out as shown in this screenshot here: ea206c6d4a.png

ignore my G drive, its an external HDD that derps and sometimes needs to be reformatted in to NTFS as it likes to set itself to RAW when plugging it in to another computer... for some reason....

so to be clear, this 250gb drive has ubuntu on it, however i cannot reformat it through windows.

Most likely its because it has a non-readable (from a Windows perspective) partition on it. If you delete the volume and then create a new one it should be fine.

Disk 0 is usually the boot drive, so it looks to me like you're trying to format the boot drive, despite what you've said above.

The C drive is shown at the top where all partitions are listed. It's shown to be 850+GB in size.
