AMD stock cooler

Go to solution Solved by Aniallation,

Yes, the FX 8350 cooler will work on the Phenom II X4. Just keep in mind to thoroughly clean both the cooler and CPU before applying new thermal paste.

so i have upgraded my pc and my old pc i want to use for a media pc.
and my new pc has a hyper 412S and i still have the stock cooler of the fx 8350 but my old pc thermal paste is gone of the stock cooler so is it possible to put the fx 8350 stock cooler on the Phenom 2 X4 965 Black edition ?
then i can save myself some euro's to buy thermal paste
also i have a Gigabyte 78LMT-USB3 motherboard in the media pc

You would think Ubisoft would support the Bulldozer based architectures more given their digging themed names like bulldozer, Piledriver, Steamroller and Excavator.

Yep, just make sure to use thermal paste. I had a stock 8320 cooler on a Athlon II X4 recently.

idk if it is low quality thermal paste or something

Nope, you can't use thermal compound that was left back on the heatsink from a removal, it may be contaminated and unable to form a proper seal

Wipe it off properly and lay a new set of compound

No, don't re-use thermal paste. Clean it and put new thermal paste on.

"Rawr XD"
