The Difference between Quadro and Tesla?

Go to solution Solved by thekeemo,

the tesla doesnt have any outputs

Quadro - This is the workstation version. Higher priced. This is meant for corporate customers, so it is better tested, more memory, etc. This is the highest quality chips. And since they are higher priced, NVIDIA offers better support, easier exchanges etc.

Tesla - This is the range that is focused on HPC.  With no video output. This is intended for people using CUDA.

so in essence a tesla is for computing
a quadro is for computing and showing stuff

you would have to use another card to be able to use the tesla I know people that have gtx 750's with teslas just so they can display

So, I'd like to build workstation PC for my brother. I have a question about the GPU, what's the differences between Quadro and Tesla?

Thats that. If you need to get in touch chances are you can find someone that knows me that can get in touch.

Telsa exists for compute power. It is a number cruncher. I've always just viewed it as a compute card, not a graphics card.

The Quadro exists as an actual GPU, which can be used as a consumer card. It displays an output, it is used to process images.

tesla is a compute card, not a professional GPU like the quadro
