Heres the situation.  I have two pcs on my desk, each with a monitor.  I would like to have the audio from the secondary pc come through my main pc and output to my headset.  The way I have it set up now is an aux cable going from the speaker output of my secondary into the line in on my main pc.  Then I go into sound and select 'listen to this device'.  This is kind of a crude way to do it, but it works.  However it does not work well and it results in some static and distortion.

My question is: is there any better way to do this that results in better quality/is easier to set up?  Thanks!

Have you tried turning the volume down on the secondary PC, and/or using the microphone input on the primary?

The problem I think, is that the line input on computers is designed for a line level signal, which the main output of a computer definitely is not, which might be over driving the primary's input.
