Keeping Files when replacing hdd in new machine.

Hello guys,

 

I want to "upgrade" my parents pc but they want to keep their files. So I got the plan to use 2 Hdd's and do it as follow:

 

Hdd A = hard disk with the files to keep

Hdd B= New os Hdd. 

 

If i used hdd b in the system as the boot and os drive will I be able to use Hdd A as hardrive in the new pc without losing any photo's and documents ?

Yes. The old HDD may even have windows installed, just remove it from boot order. You can eventually either format it (move files to other HDD temporarily) or just delete those files you don't need.
