2nd round of peer review

Go to solution Solved by Tithonius,

Not sure where on the Nzxt web site you saw that it should work. The compatibility checker on the G10 web page reports

"UNKNOWN The MSI GeForce GTX 970 4GB Twin Frozr V Video Card and NZXT G10 Video Card Cooler compatibility could not be evaluated.

Compability Notes:

MSI GeForce GTX 970 4GB Twin Frozr V Video Card support for the non-reference PCB on the NZXT G10 Video Card Cooler could not be verified. Fit will depend on PCB component and mounting hole mounting layout."

I believe EVGA 04G-P4-2972-KR is compatible with the G10.

Okay, thanks for the input, its nice to catch things like this now and not later in the build

The build as it it now: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/NFqvCJ

Okay, this is the second round of putting my computer through the "filter" thgat is linus tech tips. I just want to make absolutly sure that everything is good.

First of all the PSU, RAM and CPU are kind of over the top, i know this and i know that i may be spending maybie a little too much for what value i am getting, but i want to be able to squeeze as much as i can out of them, because i will be using this pc for major gaming as well as some mid level vidoe capture and editing.

Just wanna hear what you guys have to say, what would you do different? what would you do better and why? would love to hear from you guys.

Collecting every single CPU in existence? Is it possible? I have no idea, but i'm sure gonna try! http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/341848-dont-throw-away-old-cpus-im-collecting/

u really dont need that large of a psu

it wont effect the performance at all if u got a smaller one

@lutewan I realize that i dont need as big of a CPU, but i want to be able to have the growing room for the machine. If it comes down to it and i dont have the cash i will probobly go with a smaller one

I would suggest the 4960K (Which is still a little too much for gaming) and then get a 80+ Gold PSU.

If you are going to liquid cool the gpu, there is little point in getting a performance unit.

According to http://www.overclock.net/t/1523813/msi-gtx-970-twin-frozr-with-nzxt-g10-cooling, the MSI GTX 970 Twin Forzr is not compatible with the G10. http://www.reddit.com/r/buildapc/comments/2hf5qb/gtx_970_in_a_kraken_g10/ suggest that it might, but is not definite.

The psu is nearly twice the capacity needed.

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.
