i have recently installed a new windows onto my laptop. I replaced the motherboard and now everything seems to be fine but i don't get auto-play pop-ups anymore. I can't use usb drives and it always asks me to find the drivers for my hard drive. BTW i have an acer aspire 5335

I've not tried usb peripherals but i know for a fact that usb thumb drives don't work

What version of Windows? Going to Computer should allow you to view the drives plugged into the laptop.

I'm using Windows Vista 32 bit - Home Basic

Go to Start and click My Computer(or Computer). Does your flash drive appear there when you plug it in?
