I'm planning a new gaming build. I am now to choose between a Palit gtx 970 Jetstream or a MSI gtx 970 OC Tiger.

And on a side note, would there be better choices for me(AMD cards)? I wouldn't mind some mild overclocking.

Specs for the build:

i5 4690k

8gb ram

120gb ssd

1tb hdd

Between the two get the msi gtx 970. Much better company and cooler. If you don't mind spending a bit more then get a gigabyte g1 gaming gtx 970. Its the best gtx 970 in terms of cooling and overclock ability. In terms of amd cards there isn't a single amd card which outperforms the 970. The only card which matches the 970 in terms of performance is the r9 290x. At 4k however the r9 290x does have an advantage due to its higher memory bandwith. If a 290x costs significantly cheaper than the 970, then get a 290x. If they are nearly the same price and you won't be playing at resolutions higher than 1080p/1440p the 970 would be the better choice.

Oh ok. thanks for the info. Someone told me to just overclock the Jetstream and I would get almost the same performance from the msi OC tiger. I didn't know if that was true or not but thanks for the info. Will that one card be good for multi monitors?

Well the jetstream and msi oc tiger, even though they have different coolers, are still the same card (they are both gtx 970s). So performance is still very similar between them.  Actually the palit jetstream is clocked higher than the msi card, so in 'theory' its going to be a bit faster, but in real world performance (in gaming) there will only be a few percent difference between the card. I advise getting the msi card as msi is a much more reputable company than palit. Also how many monitors ? And will you be gaming on them? If so what games are you going to play?

In the meantime two monitors, so most likely will be playing on 1 monitor. In the future I would be upgrading to three monitors, I know simulation games are the best for that kind of setup so I would still game on 1 monitor for the other types of genre(don't know if this is the right move or not xD). But for the simulation games I would really like to play on all three monitors if possible.
